Set in a deep valley surrounded by rolling hills, Llanfyllin is a small town in the County of Montgomeryshire lying on the River Cain. It is considered to be one of the most attractive places to live owing to its thriving town centre and very low crime rates. The ancient town has a population of approximately 1,200 and a considerable variety of architecture. During June and July each year, the Festival of Music takes place and features many internationally acclaimed artists. In mid-August, the Agricultural and Horticultural Show is held, and every other year there is a carnival. Bodfach Hall is known for its wonderful displays of azaleas and rhododendrons and Llanfyllin has received several top awards from the Wales in Bloom competition.
