Llanfyrnach is a small village in Pembrokeshire, situated in remote uplands near the headwaters of the River Taf, about 13 miles from the town of Cardigan. The name Llanfyrnach means ‘Church of St Brynach’ and there has been a Christian community in Llanfyrnach since the 5th Century. The lead mines at Llanfyrnach and the quarry at Glogue provided jobs for several hundred years. Today, stone is still quarried in the area and standing stones are a big feature of the landscape. It is thought that the giant slabs of Stonehenge originated from a quarry near Llanfyrnach.

Amenities for property in Llanfyrnach
Three miles from Llanfyrnach is
Crymych, one of the largest villages in the area. It is where residents of Llanfyrnach go to see films in the little theatre, and to use the swimming pool and leisure centre. There is also a good selection of shops in Crymych including an excellent butcher. Crymych's status as the focal centre in the region was confirmed in 1958, when Ysgol y Preseli opened, a successful Welsh-speaking comprehensive school. But, Llanfyrnach does have its own primary school, Ysgol Clydau, and its own pub, The Butcher’s Arms. Cardigan is the main centre for shops and amenities but if you just want to enjoy the great outdoors there is the splendour of Pembrokeshire Coast National Park and the safe, sandy beaches that line the coast of Cardigan Bay.
