Located midway between Wales' capital city of Cardiff and the maritime city of Swansea is the charming market town of Bridgend. In 1425 a little hump-backed bridge was built, linking the north and south banks of the river Ogmore. Some say the name "Bridgend" came into being when the stone bridge was built.
