Property, Houses and Flats for Sale in Kilmacolm, Renfrewshire

Lying on the northern slope of Strathgryffe, 7 miles south-east of Greenock, the small town of Kilmacolm gets its name from the 13th century Church of St Columba of Iona. The aisle of the original church adjoins an early 19th century church known locally as Old Kirk. Near the church, cottages were built for agricultural workers, but in early Victorian times prosperity encouraged the growth of grander houses. Just over a mile south of Kilmacolm is Quarrier’s Village, made up of a number of cottages built by the Glasgow philanthropist William Quarrier as a children's home. The village is within the ward of Kilmacolm and the cottages are now privately owned.
