Roslin Castle was built in the 14th century and although part ruin, an impressive 5-storey section was restored in the early 17th century. In the mid 15th century, the magnificent Rosslyn (Roslin) Chapel was built and is supposedly connected to the Knights Templar, according to Dan Brown's The Da Vinci Code. What is fact is that the chapel is one of the finest in the world in terms of architecture and stone carvings.
