Property, Houses and Flats for Sale in Carrbridge, Inverness-Shire

Property for sale in Carrbridge

Carrbridge is an attractive village that offers its 900 residents and its many visitors a quiet alternative to Aviemore. Skiing in Scotland started in Carrbridge in the 1950s when Karl Fuchs established his Austrian Ski School. Carrbridge originally came into existence for being the place where the road from Inverness to Perth crosses the fast flowing River Dulnain, a tributary of the River Spey. The first packhorse bridge was built in 1717 but was badly damaged by flooding in 1829. Remarkably, the bridge is still standing and is near the A9 road bridge which was built in the 1970s.
