Property, Houses and Flats for Sale in Beauly, Inverness-Shire

Property for sale in Beauly

Beauly lies on the north bank of the River Beauly, just west of Beauly Firth and 11 miles west of Inverness. In the 13th century, French monks established Beauly Priory, pronounced ‘Bewley’, which is a corruption of ‘beau lieu’ i.e. beautiful place. In 1814, Thomas Telford built Lovat Bridge, a mile south-west of Beauly, establishing the principal route from the Scotland’s most northern towns to Inverness. In the late 1970s, Kessock Bridge was built across Beauly Firth, due north of Inverness, enabling through traffic to bypass Beauly village. Today, free from heavy lorries, Beauly’s broad main square with buildings such as the ruins of Beauly Priory and the imposing Lovat Arms Hotel, built in striking red stone, can be properly enjoyed by Beauly’s 1,500 residents and visitors.

If you are looking for property for sale in Beauly the supply is limited although there is a mix of 3-bedroom bungalows; new-build, executive-style houses with double garages and up to 5 bedrooms; and, on the fringes of Beauly, a few older properties in truly rural settings. To receive details of houses for sale in Beauly as soon as they become available, please register your interest with Beauly estate agents.
