Property for sale in Dalry
Dalry is a small town south-west of Glasgow on the A737 with a population of about 6,000. The name, Dalry, derives from 'dail righ', which is Gaelic for 'King's Valley', and the valley is indeed fit for a king as it is both fertile and beautiful. In the 19th century the arrival of the railway stimulated the expansion of heavy industries including coal mining; and brick, lime and iron works. Today, the principal local industry is the production of vitamin C by Roche, but many residents commute by car or train to work in Johnstone, Paisley and Glasgow.
If you are seeking property for sale in Dalry you will find that the town has a mix of semi-detached houses and new-build family-sized houses. Estate agents in Dalry also represent detached, executive-style, houses; and a few older properties including farmhouse conversions. Dalry also has three pubs, a few restaurants including Indian and Chinese, and a good choice of independent shops.
