Bounded to the north by affluent Coombe Hill and to the east and south of the A3 by Raynes Park and Worcester Park, the town of New Malden also includes Motspur Park, home to the training ground of Fulham Football Club.

Property in New Malden was developed in the late 19th and early 20th centuries and was mainly made up of two and three-bedroom terraced houses. In the 1930s, detached and semi-detached houses expanded the town, destroying much of New Malden's Victorian heritage although some of it remains off Coombe Road.
