The small town of Cobham's heritage can be traced back to the Iron Age, and is almost encircled by the River Mole, a tributary of the Thames, which provides a rural appearance to the village in some places. The town's best known landmark is an early 19th century watermill, set on the picturesque banks of the river. In 2005 Chelsea Football Club moved its training ground to Stoke D'Abernon on the outskirts of the town, and as a result house prices in Cobham rose dramatically.
