Pronounced Hay-ver-il, Haverhill is an industrial market town in Suffolk close to the borders of Essex and Cambridgeshire. It has a population of about 22,000 and lies at the foot of chalk hills known as Newmarket Ridge. Stour Brook runs through the town and joins the River Stour by the village of Wixoe.
