Property, Houses and Flats for Sale in Eye, Suffolk

Eye is a small town in Suffolk on the River Dove, a tributary of the River Waveney, which marks the boundary between Suffolk and Norfolk. The word 'eye' is old English for 'island' and at one time Eye was almost entirely surrounded by water and marshland. Today, Eye is rich in historical buildings such as the 14th century Church of St Peter and St Paul, one of the finest churches in Suffolk and Grade I listed, as are the Guildhall and Eye Castle. A further 157 buildings in Eye are Grade II listed, including the Town Hall which dates from 1856. Behind the Town Hall is The Queen's Head, the last of 20 pubs that once existed in Eye.

If you are looking for property for sale in Eye and only require two or three bedrooms, you have a choice of delightful Victorian terraced cottages of which some are double-fronted and Grade II listed; or modern townhouses, semi-detached modern houses and various styles of bungalow. Estate agents in Eye also represent family-sized houses with four or five bedrooms and integral garages; gracious townhouses both old and new; thatched cottages; converted farm buildings in wonderful rural settings; and substantial detached houses from across the periods, many with mature gardens and stunning views of the arable Suffolk countryside.
