Holt is a small, charming town, located in north Norfolk on the A148, midway between Fakenham and Cromer. A fire in the early 18th century destroyed much of Holt's Tudor history, resulting in the town being reconstructed with fine Georgian buildings. Today, Holt is a prosperous town with numerous speciality shops, a large supermarket tucked out of sight, tea and coffee shops, and several quality restaurants and pubs. 'Holt' is an old English word for 'wood' and the town is edged by over 100 acres of dense woods and surrounded by a patchwork of fields.

Houses for sale in Holt and its neighbouring villages offer a rich mixture of styles and periods and include two and three-bedroom, terraced cottages; modern, semi-detached townhouses in small developments; converted barns and coach houses, sometimes Grade II listed; period-style brick and flint new-build detached houses; and in rural and semi-rural locations, substantial thatched cottages and detached houses, often dating back to the early 17th century.
