Diss lies in the beautiful valley of the River Waveney, around one of the deepest natural lakes in the country. The town has some fine Mediaeval, Georgian and Edwardian buildings, including the 14th century Church of St. Mary and the remarkable 16th century Dolphin House. In 1871, workmen were removing the ground floor bricks of a neighbouring house and discovered an earthen vessel containing three hundred silver coins and two gold nobles. It just goes to prove, there's always been money in property!
Houses for sale in Diss are a mixture of styles and periods and include two-bedroom bungalows; modern, terraced houses; and charming, Victorian cottages some, of which, are Grade II listed. Diss offers a wide choice of new-build, three-bedroom townhouses and a mix of detached houses offering four bedrooms, situated within new developments on the fringes of town. In more rural settings you will find thatched cottages, converted churches and farm buildings, substantial houses built in the 20th century; and a few period mansions, set in large, mature gardens.
Flats for sale in Diss are located in purpose-built apartment blocks and low-rise, apartment houses. For details of all flats, cottages and houses currently for sale, please contact Diss estate agents.
