Sport is a key feature of East Ham, due in part to the influence of the London 2012 Olympics and local sporting facilities such as East Ham Leisure Centre on Barking Road.

Central Park and Plashet Park are the two largest parks in East Ham and both combine natural open spaces with playgrounds and cafés.

Priory Park is in the Upton Park area of East Ham and Flanders Playing Fields are where former England captain, Sir Bobby Moore, developed his football skills. West Ham United F.C., which Moore also captained, has its ground in Upton Park.
