Although shopping opportunities around Blackfriars are limited to smaller retail shops, a few restaurants and coffee shops, the excellent transport connections mean residents are no more than half an hour away from pretty much anywhere in London, including Covent Garden with its extensive variety of shops and markets. Another good place for shopping is Gabriel's Wharf, which is just over the river from Blackfriars on the South Bank; this pleasant square is formed by the backs of warehouses painted to resemble house-fronts. People looking for property in Blackfriars will discover there are plenty of local attractions in the area, amongst which is magnificent St. Paul's Cathedral, scenic walks along the river Thames, and the famous Millennium Bridge from where there are great views up and down the river. Once you've crossed the bridge, you could enjoy a play at the Globe Theatre or visit the Tate Modern.

The station at Blackfriars provides access to the District and Circle lines on the underground, has a mainline station running services out to Kent, and a riverboat connection point. Additionally the City Thameslink service runs from nearby Ludgate Circus.
