Living in Brompton
Brompton is a magnificent residential area south of Knightsbridge in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea.
In the approximate shape of a triangle, Brompton is bordered by Brompton Road, Sloane Street and Sloane Avenue.
Brompton is characterised by grand terraces of white stucco houses and magnificent mansion flats. It is also known for its stately squares complemented by mature private gardens, with Hans Place, Cadogan Square and Lennox Gardens being the prime examples.
Within walking distance of Brompton are the smart shops of Knightsbridge including the world-famous department stores of Harrods and Harvey Nichols.
Across Sloane Street is Belgravia where there is a mix of charming mews houses, terraces of five-storey townhouses, and giant porticoed mansions.
The vast green swathe of Hyde Park is due north of Brompton and to the west is the Victorian Brompton Oratory, a Roman Catholic Church based on classic Italianate designs.
On Brompton's western border is South Kensington where residents and visitors enjoy a rich supply of restaurants, cafés, bars, banks and independent shops.

Transport
Brompton is in the centre of an area that is well-served by buses and by London Underground.
Knightsbridge tube station is on the Piccadilly Line, which provides a direct link to the terminals at Heathrow Airport.
En route to Heathrow is South Kensington tube station which, apart from the Piccadilly Line, is served by the District and Circle lines with Sloane Square tube station one stop eastwards.
Victoria mainline railway station is east of Belgravia and provides a swift service to Gatwick Airport and Brighton.
