Cranbrook has 7,000 residents and is the smallest town in Kent. Set within glorious countryside, Cranbrook has property dating back many hundreds of years and one of Kent’s surviving windmills built in 1814. On the Maidstone to Hastings road, Cranbrook is in the Borough of Royal Tunbridge Wells, about 5 miles south of Staplehurst. In medieval times, Cranbrook was a centre of the Wealden cloth industry and in 1425, St Dunstan's Church was built, which is often called the Cathedral of the Weald owing to its 74 feet-high tower.

Property for sale in Cranbrook is a wonderful mix of styles and periods so it is hard to give average prices for three, four or five-bedroom houses in the area. But, as a guide, period terraced cottages offering three bedrooms will have an asking price of around £280,000 but, for the same money, you can find detached, modern houses offering four bedrooms and a garage. If you are considering Grade II listed detached cottages in wonderful, rural settings, with four bedrooms, the prices quoted by Cranbrook estate agents will be much closer to £450,000. Flats for sale in Cranbrook are usually in conversion properties that are often Grade II listed and are in the region of £235,000 for two bedrooms.
