Tring is a small market town 30 miles north west of London, and lies at the extreme western edge of Hertfordshire - an area known as the Tring Salient because it sticks out from the rest of the county. While Tring is surrounded by countryside, it is also conveniently located for central London, and is popular with commuters. This small attractive town is largely residential and is situated amid the wooded Chiltern Hills on the Ridgeway. Tring railway station is approximately one mile south-east of Tring, in a village called 'Tring Station', where regular services operate into London Euston in a journey time of under 45 minutes. A local bus service runs between Tring Station and Tring. By road Tring is accessible via the A41 dual-carriageway between Tring and the M25 (junction 20).
