Sawbridgeworth is a small town, situated between Harlow and Bishop's Stortford. In the Domesday Book, the Manor of "Sabrixteworde" was considered one of the most valuable estates in the county and given by William the Conqueror to Geoffrey de Mandeville after the Battle of Hastings.
