Hook is a growing town in Hampshire with a quickly expanding population of 8,000 people, lying 42 miles from the capital city and just 10 miles of the large town of Basingstoke. Hook enjoys an attractive situation, with rural scenes surrounding the town centre. The recent and continued expansion is due to some new housing developments that have cropped up, which means that the town is currently enjoying a period of economical growth. There is plenty of commerce in the town, much of it based at the Bartley Wood Business Park. Major telecommunications company NTL is also based in Hook, no doubt a contributory factor to the development of housing in the town.
