Polegate is a town and civil parish in the Wealden District of East Sussex. It is located at the junction of the A27 and A22 five miles north of Eastbourne. Polegate has many local services, but the main shopping centres are in Hailsham and Eastbourne, both 4 miles away. The main train line service from Hastings to Lewes runs through the village. Polegate is a great walking spot, and is the starting point for the picturesque Cuckoo Trail, which can be cycled or walked. To the south there are magnificent vistas of the South Downs, an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
