Hove is a town on the south coast of England to the west of Brighton, in the county of East Sussex. As part of local government reforms, Brighton and Hove were merged to form the borough of Brighton & Hove in 1997. In 2000 the combined towns officially attained city status. But though it is very much part of the Brighton scene, Hove retains its own distinct identity. As Hove is more residential, it enjoys a quieter pace of life, with the buzz of Brighton a mere stone’s throw away. Families and older peolple tend to prefer Hove to the thronging centre of Brighton. There is lots of property for sale in Hove, though it should be noted that prices in Brighton & Hove are much higher than the rest of the UK, due to the city's fashionable image and its proximity to London.
