On the north-west coast of Devon, near Ilfracombe and Braunton, lies the tiny seaside village of Woolacombe. Its glorious, sandy beach curves like a scimitar to Putsborough, three miles to the south. Gently sloping, the beach has Blue Flag status and a Premier Seaside Beach award for its cleanliness, quality of water and facilities. The South West Coast Path runs through the village and leads to Morte Point, a wonderful place to sit and watch the sun set.
