On the north-west coast of Devon, near Ilfracombe and Braunton, lies the tiny seaside village of Woolacombe. Its glorious, sandy beach curves like a scimitar to Putsborough, three miles to the south. Gently sloping, the beach has Blue Flag status and a Premier Seaside Beach award for its cleanliness, quality of water and facilities. The South West Coast Path runs through the village and leads to Morte Point, a wonderful place to sit and watch the sun set.

In the centre of the village are traditional terraced cottages surrounded by larger properties built over the last 100 years, often with spectacular views of the sea. An occasional bus service runs from Woolacombe to Mortehoe, Ilfracombe and Combe Martin. By car, Woolacombe is on the B3343 which joins the A361 Barnstaple road. The railway station in Barnstaple offers a service to Exeter Central with a journey time of a little over an hour.
