Neighbouring areas

Winsford lies four miles south of Northwich on the River Weaver and grew around the salt mining industry. It has a population of 34,000 and the UK’s only rock salt mine, sinking to a depth of more than 150 metres. Salt mining created Winford’s most prominent geographical feature called the Flashes, an old English word for lakes that were formed when the river flooded into vast underground caverns that had caved in where salt had been pumped out from under the rock surface. Top Flash is popular for fishing and Bottom Flash is great for sailing, fishing, and walking.

If you are looking for property for sale in Winsford and only require two or three bedrooms, there is a very wide choice of style and periods including beautiful Victorian and Edwardian terraced cottages; detached bungalows; post-war semi-detached houses on large estates; and new-build houses with integral garages. Estate agents in Winsford also represent houses offering four or more bedrooms, such as executive-style new-build houses with double garages, imposing Edwardian villas, stunning barn conversions, and a variety of substantial, stand alone, old and new detached houses.
