Sandbach is a very pretty town with about 18,000 residents and many beautiful buildings. Permission to hold a market was granted by Elizabeth I in 1579 and a market is still held every week on Scotch Common. Sandbach, pronounced Sandbatch, is famous for its Saxon Crosses situated in the cobbled market square.
