Rental Scam - Property Fraud Alert June 2009A company is contacting people who are looking for property to rent, usually via another website, and asking them for money for a deposit on a property they are interested in.

The company claims to be acting through PrimeLocation Services and refer to themselves as an impartial third party asking for deposit money to be transferred to secure a rental property. In some cases they are claiming the landlord is out of the country and PrimeLocation or PrimeLocation Services is acting on their behalf.

Please be aware that this is nothing to do with Primelocation.com and seems to be an online property fraud.

Whilst property scams are not common, there has been an increase in rental scams and we urge you to be vigilant and ensure you verify any requests for money prior to authorising any transactions.

Primelocation.com deals directly with letting agents, and does not act on behalf of landlords. We will never ask for money on behalf of a landlord or act as an agent for a property.

Be Aware!

Primelocation.com urges potential renters to be aware of rental scams and to ensure that any emails you receive claiming to be from Primelocation.com end in @primelocation.com or @tdpg.com (our parent company The Digital Property Group).
