Boutique hotel in historic Umbrian village near Orvieto and Todi.
This charming building is located in an historic hilltop village on the east side of the Tiber valley
and close to the famous Etruscan town of Orvieto. It has 7 double guest bedrooms all with en suite as well as a restaurant offering typical Umbrian and international cuisine. The building is on 3 floors, laid out as follows. On the ground floor on the
downhill side there is independent access to the welcoming restaurant which has seating for passing visitors in addition to the hotel’s own guests. A well-equipped professional kitchen and a guest cloakroom adjoin the restaurant.
On the 1st floor, which is at street level on the uphill side, the main entrance leads into a reception area with an office to one side, a central sitting room
and 3 of the bedroom suites. Work is in hand to create a large outdoor terrace to the rear of the building, from where diners will be able to enjoy spectacular views over the Tiber Valley, as well as 2 further guest apartments.
On the top floor are the remaining 4 bedroom suites and a very comfortable sitting room with a large open fireplace.
Outbuildings and services
Staff quarters are located in an immediately neighbouring house in the hamlet or borgo which surrounds both the hotel and its large neighbour, a famous Renaissance villa (Palazzo
Ancajani) which attracts many visitors to the village and guests to the hotel and restaurant. Private car parking for the hotel guests is in a little square just 50 metres away. There are possibilities to acquire other buildings in the neighbourhood to extend
the capacity of the hotel, and the present hotel manager is willing to stay on to assist in developing the already thriving business which has both an Italian and an international clientele. Rome can be reached in about 1 hour either by car or train and attractions
in the neighbourhood include the WWF nature reserve around the lake of Alviano.
