This unique and fascinating building once formed part of the neighbouring Benedictine Abbey in the place known as Badia Passignano just south of Florence in the direction of Siena.
Its present owners have carefully transformed it into a comfortable home whilst retaining the basic structure and features which Michelangelo would have seen when he stayed there in the 16th century.
The front entrance leads from the quiet village street into an entrance hall which, with its stone walls and oak beamed ceiling immediately creates the atmosphere which pervades the
whole house.
Off the entrance hall are the kitchen, a dining room, a sitting room, study and guest cloakroom. An inside staircase leads down to the wine cellar. A carved wooden staircase leads
from the sitting room to the 1st floor where there are 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a walk in closet. Above in the tower is another bedroom from which access is gained to the castellated terrace dominating the building and the surrounding landscape.
To the rear of the house and accessed by an outside staircase is a small apartment , intended for a living-in maid, with bedroom, bathroom and a small kitchen. In the annexe to the main house and accessed from a grassed over courtyard are 2 further independent
apartments, each with 2 bedrooms.

parking space for several cars with access via a driveway shared with the neighbouring property. Mains water and electricity are laid on. The village, although small, has an excellent restaurant. Shops and all other amenities are in Tavernelle which
is a 5 minute drive away. The surrounding landscape is dominated by the extensive vineyards owned by one of the most famous producers of Chianti Classico.
Florence and its airport are 30 minutes away by car and Pisa international airport can be reached in 1 hour.
