This rustic farmhouse restoration in northern Lazio
offers a
good venue for family holidays and re-unions. The location is
very pleasant, in a peaceful rural area overlooking the spectacular clay cliffs
and the mediaeval borgo of Cività di Bagnoregio, between Lake Bolsena and the Tiber Valley The main house is on 2 floors. On
the ground floor is a large kitchen with adjoining dining room and doors leading
out onto a covered portico, a sitting room and an open space in the centre of
the house with stairs leading down into a cool wine cellar. Also on the ground
floor is an independent apartment with its own entrance consisting of 1 double
bedroom, kitchen, dining room and bathroom. A connecting door through to the
sitting room of the main house can be opened up if required. On the 1st floor are 3 double bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. A
small guest house in the grounds has 1 double bedroom, a kitchen/dining area, 1
bathroom and a small mezzanine floor with room for 2 single beds.
The 4 hectares of land which surrounds the house is mainly down to grass. Mature trees provide shade and a kitchen garden gives fresh vegetables for the table. There is a small swimming pool and a tennis court. Artesian wells provide plentiful water and the house has oil-fired central heating. Telephone and mains electricity are connected. Shops and other amenities are to be found in Civitella d’Agliano which is 5 minutes drive away. The Rome- Florence motorwy is 25 kms away and Rome airport can be reached in about 1h. 30 mins.
