HISTORY: The Chianti's history has ancient origins that coincide with the origins of the first inhabitants of Tuscany. Indeed, it was the area where the Etruscans settled since they were attracted by the mild climate, by the enchanting position and by the richness
of the soil.
The place where the villa is located was initially an Etruscan settlement and later a Roman settlement. This unique property is first mentioned in a medieval document dated 1033.
During the 1400s the land registry of Florence makes reference to the area as a rural concentration. On this concentration, during the 18th century, the villa-farm was built.
In the 1800s, the estate was purchased by the Strozzi family, historic enemy of Medicis. At this time, the estate was composed of 26 farmhouses and was already famous for its wine's refinement and conservation capacity.
Subsequently the villa was embellished and these changes provided the harmony of its current composition.
