This wonderful ancient castle was built around 846AD and belonged to the bishops of Parma. In the twelfth century it became part of the dominion of the Pallavicino and in the 1600's it passed under the control of the dukes of Farnese.
The castle has an internal courtyard with columns of Botticino marble. There is also a tall tower with original spiral staircase.
With five floors in total, the first of the two lower ground floors is used as a large stable and could be renovated for residential use or kept for its original purpose. The second lower ground floor is used as the wine distillation area and is fully functioning.
