HISTORY:
The Chianti’s history has ancient origins that coincide with the origins of the first inhabitants of Tuscany. Indeed, it was the area where the Etruscans settled in since they were attracted by the mild climate, by the enchanting position and by the richness
of the soil. The place where is located the villa was initially an Etruscan settlement and later a Roman settlement. The first wrote mention of this unique property is in a medieval document dated 1033. During the 1400 the land registry of Florence makes reference
to the area as a rural concentration. On this concentration, during the 18° century, the villa-farm was stood up. In the ‘800 half, the estate was purchased by the Strozzi family, historic enemy of Medici’s. At this time, the estate was composed by 26 farmhouses
and it was already famous for its wine’s refinement and conservation capacity. Successively the villa was embellished and these changes provided the harmony of its current composition. ARCHITECTURE: The façade is composed by a central level higher than the
two lateral parts, it is decorated by a gable with a large frame and a clock. It is possible to reach the first floor (piano nobile) through a grand staircase composed by two flights interrupted by a shelf that breaks the steps’ sequence. The windows are lined
up, except the central window of the second floor, that becomes in particular evidence and offers a great symmetry to the structure.
THE PROPERTY:
The villa encompasses more than 2,000 square meters and holds many large reception rooms, a total of 13 bedrooms and 13 bathrooms. The interiors feature the typical but refined Tuscan finishes such as vaults or ceiling beams, ancient cotto floor, fireplaces
in local grey stone (pietra serena), all these elements create an exceptional and antique atmosphere . On the villa’s basement are located the beautiful ageing cellars, completely excavated on the rock with cross vaults in terracotta. The property offers also
