Mittals: Kensington Palace Gardens, London
When you are one of the richest people in the world and already own properties running into hundreds of millions pounds all over the world, what do you buy your children when they leave home?
Indian steel magnate Lakshmi Mittal (pictured), the richest man in the UK and sixth richest in the world, owns 18-19 Kensington Palace Gardens, purchased from Bernie Ecclestone for £70 million in 2004.
This property, now reckoned to be worth £150 million, is one of three properties worth collectively some £500 million on ‘billionaires’ row'. Given this level of wealth, it's not surprising that he's got spare cash to splash on his progeny.
Lakshmi bought his male issue, Aditya, who’s married to Megha Mittal, owner of luxury brand Escada, 6 Palace Greens, Kensington Gardens, for £117 million.
And Daddy didn’t forget daughter Vanisha, who had what’s reckoned to be the most expensive wedding in the world to date to businessman, Amit Bhatia. She was given £70 million 9 Palace Greens, Kensington Gardens (pictured) which was once the embassy of the Czech Republic.
