Just outside Salisbury, this is the home of the Earls of Pembroke. The South Front of the house, dating from the mid 17th-century, and the bridge over the river Nadder are regarded as triumphs of Palladian architecture, with the central tower all that now remains of the original Tudor house.
The famous Cube Room, 30-foot long, wide and high, and the magnificent Double Cube Room, 60-foot long, by 30-foot by 30-foot, were both designed by Inigo Jones, and featured recently in the film The Young Victoria.
The house has also been seen in Blackadder, Pride and Prejudice, The Bounty and The Madness of King George.
