Picturesque grassland farm with charming traditional farmhouse.

5 bedroom period farmhouse, range of modern and traditional farm buildings, productive grazing land, attractive far reaching southerly views across open countryside.

INTRODUCTION

Wyndham Farm comprises approximately 180.58 acres of farmland located on the edge of the Blackmore Vale. The land lies in four main blocks of gently undulating Dorset farmland. The farm has been in the same family’s hands since 1938.

The charming period five bedroom farmhouse dates back to the mid 19th Century. The farm buildings lie to the south of the farmhouse and comprise a compact and useful range of traditional and modern buildings.

LOCATION

The farm is located to the south of the A303 and close to the towns of Gillingham, Mere and Wincanton. Gillingham lies 2.7 miles to the south-east and benefits from an extensive range of shops and has a mainline railway station to London (Waterloo) which can be reached in just over 2 hours at most times of the day.

The towns, villages and countryside around Wyndham Farm provide an excellent selection of recreational and sporting activities with golf courses nearby at Wincanton, Sherborne and Tollard Royal; racing at Wincanton (national hunt) and Salisbury (flat). There is excellent surrounding walking and riding country and the south coast is just over an hour’s drive away for water sports at Poole, Weymouth and Lymington.

This area has also become increasingly popular because of its excellent selection of schools at all levels in both the private and public sectors, including Kings Bruton, Millfield, Sherborne School for boys & girls, Bryanston, Milton Abbey, Sexey’s and Warminster School with preparatory schools close by at Port Regis, Lewiston, Hazelgrove, Sandroyd, Hanford, Knighton House, Milton and Bourton.

DIRECTIONS

From the A303 take the B3092/5 from Mere south towards Gillingham. In Milton on Stour just past the church turn right towards Silton (signposted to Milton and Bourton). Continue along this road out of the village and take the first left after approximately half a mile signposted to Silton Church. Wyndham Farm can then be found on the left hand side.
