A category B listed 19th Century Gothic church with development potential, situated in a prominent position in the Borders town of Langholm.
Erskine Church occupies a prominent position in the High Street of Langholm, Dumfries and Galloway. Dating from 1867, the church is of a Gothic style with a square tower and broach spire. The rectangular plan building consists at present of the main chamber (with balcony level) and smaller ancillary rooms to the rear. The church is currently in a relative state of despair. Although no formal approaches have been made to Dumfries and Galloway Council Planning Department, initial informal discussions would suggest that they would consider applications of a commercial or domestic nature.
Langholm lies in an attractive setting at the meeting point between the River Esk and the Ewes Water. The town is traditionally recognised for it's contribution to the woollen industry. More akin to a Borders town, Langholm is famed for the "Common Ridings" at which the local Brass Band (thought to be the oldest in Scotland) perform anually. Although rugby is an important focus for the locals, there are plenty of other activities such as walking, golfing, bowling, tennis and country pursuits such as shooting and fishing locally. There are plenty of amenities including shops, public houses, restaurants and schools. Carlisle is 21 miles to the south and Hawick 24 miles to the north.

Vestry 3.1m x 2.4m (10'2" x 7'10") with sink, shelved cupboard and adjacent WC.
Rear Area 5.9m x 1.9m (19'4" x 6'3") with sink and units. Leads to:
